There is a lot to learn when selecting a powered wheelchair.  First we must determine if the driver of the powered wheelchair is safe and will not harm others in the community.  We must also determine if and how the equipment will be transported into the community.  We must determine if the home is accessible for the powered mobility.  And finally we must determine with physical conditions the client has.  Taking all these factors and working with a team, usually the wheelchair user, the family and/or caregivers, the medical staff (pt, ot, physician, other, etc) we can select the most appropriate equipment based about need.
