Standard Wheelchairs are limited in their application.  All insurance companies follow Medicare's guidelines, in that a std. wheelchair weighs more than 36 lbs (usually 40-60 lbs), chrome in color, used in hospital and institutional as they are fairly inexpensive.

These chairs are only offered in 16" or 18" wide seat sizes and 16" deep.  They have vinyl upholstery and have very limited seating options. 

For this reason, they are not intended for individuals needing a wheelchair for their primary means of mobility.  Anyone spending four or more hours per day should have a lighter weight, more appropriate sized chair based on their physical dimensions.
